WAYNE — It took awhile for Don Bosco to get going Saturday night, but once it did, it began firing on all cylinders and looked very much like the state title contender the Ironmen expect to be this winter.

Fueled by four third-period goals, including two each from first-liners Hunter Garlasco and Chris Mazzella, the Ironmen picked up an opening night victory over Pope John, 5-1, in a Gordon Conference hockey game.

JJ Conrad of the Bergen Record covered the game, you can read the rest of his article here.

Next up the Ironmen take on St Peters Prep on Tuesday Dec. 2 4:15 pm at the Prudential Center’s Amerihealth Pavilion.
