Senior Captain Ryan McLinskey 2017 BCT MVP

Eyeing its first championship of the season, Don Bosco faced an upstart Glen Rock team, a rematch of last years Bergen County Tournament Semi-Final overtime game.  Led by Senior Captain Ryan McLinskey (2g) and brother, Sophomore Liam McLinskey (1g, 1a), Bosco put away the Panthers to claim their sixth straight Bergen County Tournament Championship by a 6-1 final.

“The last four games or so we have been getting at it right away and we just wanted to keep that going tonight,” said Ryan McLinskey, who scored twice and was named the MVP of the tournament. “(After Glen Rock) scored, we just met up on the bench and said that we needed to put more pressure on them. Once the shots started flying, we knew we’d start scoring more goals.”

Five different players scored for the Ironmen in final and Bosco outscored their three opponents 24-1 during the tournament.  Alexei Masanko made 15 saves in the victory as DBP improved to 18-0 all time in BCT play and 11-3-1 on the season overall.

Next up the Ironmen face reigning state champions Delbarton, Sunday (1/22) 6:15 pm at the Ice Vault.
